About the course

B.Sc (IT) is a three year integrated program. St. Xavier’s College began this course in the academic year 2007-2008. The B.Sc. IT program of Mumbai University is designed to provide basic inputs for a broad understanding of IT and its interfaces. 

The program takes the students beyond basic computer skills to Networking, Internet Security, Database Management Systems, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and many more. The syllabus is updated from time to time in order to keep abreast with industry needs and due importance to the learning interest of the students. Some of the new additions to the course includes, topics like Image Processing, Deep Learning, Game Development. The course consists of theory and practical together with tutorials, assignments, case studies, projects, seminars and field trips.

The B.Sc (IT) program offers a wide range of subjects throughout the six semesters which touch upon mathematical abilities, statistical concepts and computer programming (C-language to Adv. Java). The curriculum is designed to focus on three main sectors viz. Programming, Data Analytics,and Artificial Intelligence. The overall objective is regularly updating the syllabus is to equip the students to be industry-ready and get placed immediately after graduation.

60 seats for each year of FY, SY and TY


Eligibility:

The eligibility criterion for admission to this course requires at least 45% aggregate at the XII Std. Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

 

Admission:

Admissions to B.Sc. (I.T.) will be based on the Entrance Examination (MCQ based)  which has  60 % weightage  & Class XII   aggregate marks which has 40 % weightage.
